Introduction
On February 4, 2026, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the Mukhyamantri Gramotthan Yojana (MGY) at Bhadran village in the Anand district. This initiative is designed to fundamentally strengthen rural governance and infrastructure across the state. With a sanctioned budget of ₹663 crore, the scheme aims to provide 2,666 villages with modern administrative facilities and urban-grade amenities. The primary objective of the program is to achieve infrastructure parity between rural and urban areas, thereby reducing the rural-urban divide and enhancing the capacity of local governance.

Broad Coverage
The scheme has sanctioned projects for a total of 2,666 villages across Gujarat. These locations will receive the standardised Gram Panchayat buildings-cum-Talati residences to ensure that local officials are stationed within the communities they serve.
Future Expansion
The Gujarat government plans to extend the benefits of the Mukhyamantri Gramotthan Yojana to other large Gram Panchayats, specifically those with a population exceeding 10,000.
